Personal Statement

“As a Regional Director of Admissions at the University of South Dakota, I work to assist students, parents, and high school administrators as they navigate the world of college admissions. This is not only my job, but also my passion.

“I firmly believe that higher education is extremely beneficial for students – not only in the future job market but also as young adults discover themselves and their place in this world. The college search is one of the first major decisions that young adults will make for themselves that will have a dramatic impact on their future. There are so many factors that contribute to a student finding the right school for them.

“My role is to provide the student with the most accurate information possible to point them in the right direction and to provide information that will be helpful for the parents and high school administrators who are assisting these students. It is my passion to help students find a school that they will eventually come to know as 'home' and where they will be able to not only excel academically but also socially, be a contributing member of the student population, find talents/hobbies that enhance their college experience, and have access to the resources necessary to help them succeed throughout the college career and beyond. I am more than happy to work with parents, counselors, or students who have questions about the college search.”
