ZAPS College Vocabulary Challenge FAQ

The online version of the app (ZAPS College Vocabulary Challenge) and the complete iTunes and Android versions (ZAPS College Vocab Complete) are exactly the same app with the same functionality delivered on different platforms. The only difference is that the online version is Web-based, and you must be connected to the Internet to use it. Q.  I got the two messages, but I’m still having trouble logging in. What do I do now?

A.  Go to https://apps.zaps.com/. There, you’ll be able to enter your email and password, or request a new password, if you haven’t created one yet. Be sure that you have used the email address that was associated with the app access; this may not be the same email address used to purchase the app.

Q.  I deleted the email telling me how to access the app. How do I restore my access?

A.  The App can be accessed from any browser. Enter the following url: https://apps.zaps.com/

Q. I mistyped my email when I registered for the app. What should I do to fix it?

A. No worries. Just send both the incorrect email address you used and the correct email address to support@zaps.com. Since you may not know exactly how you typed the incorrect address, please include your name, the date, time, order number (if you have one), and any other information that might help us find your order. We'll do our best to make the correction as soon as we locate your order.

Q. Which browsers work best with the online app?

A. The following browsers work best with this ZAPS app:

    • Explorer 9
    • Firefox
    • Chrome
    • Safari
    • Android 2.3+
    • iOS4+

Q.  Our family has two high school students. Can they share the ZAPS College Vocabulary Challenge?

A.  While there's nothing preventing your students from working in the same app, we don't advise it. This app is customized for each specific user, providing review on the words that are troublesome for that person, which may not be the same words that are a problem for another user. If two or more students share the same app, they will not be presented with all of the words.

Q.  How can I earn badges?

A.  There are two kinds of badges you can earn on the ZAPS College Vocabulary Challenge App. One is for the number of correct responses you give as you learn words. The other is a usage badge for the number of times you log in and use the app. Look at the table below to see the badge names and the way to earn each of them. Note that we've used some pretty challenging vocabulary words as the names of the badges. Not sure what the badge names mean? Some words are pretty esoteric (another word to look up — enter "define esoteric" in your browser for a quick definition), but that's part of the fun. If you have suggestions for new badges, let us know at support@zaps.com.

A.  ZAPS offers highly effective PSAT/SAT seminars at thousands of high schools across the continental United States. Check with your guidance counselor to see if ZAPS provides a seminar at your school. Or, search for a local ZAPS seminar. If we have a seminar scheduled at your school in the next few weeks, it will be posted on our website. (Seminars that have already occurred are removed from the list.) If there is no ZAPS seminar scheduled at your school, please call our customer service team at 1-877-927-8378 to discuss other options. If you're concerned about a specific subject area on the PSAT/SAT, sign up for one of our two-and-a-half-hour PSAT/SAT subject-review webinars.
