Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the SAT & the ACT?
The ACT covers four subject areas: English, Reading, Math, and Science while the SAT is divided into Verbal and Math sections. Some students test better on one test over the other. 90% of colleges today will accept either test.
"Our seniors broke all records with their ACT scores, and most kids took ZAPS. ZAPS will be the only ACT prep offered at our school."
—Guidance Director
Eureka HS, IL

When should I take my first ACT or SAT?
We encourage students to attempt both the SAT and the ACT during their Junior year. Once they determine which test they score better at, then, if necessary, during their Senior year they can concentrate on improving that particular test score.

Can I take the tests more than once?
Yes, students often take these tests two or three times. Colleges may look to see how many times you have taken the test, but they are only interested in your highest score.

Do test prep seminars really help?
Over the past 10 years, RMASS has helped over 100,000 students reach their goal of a college education. In the competitive world of college admissions, a couple of points on the ACT or 50-100 points on the SAT can make all the difference. Would you have taken your driver’s exam without preparing for it? You study for all the tests you must take in life and college entrance exams are no different.
